Little Britches Therapeutic Riding in Woodbury, CT has been a wonderful resource for Nora. She starting riding with them when she was just three years old, and I credit them in part with helping her learn to walk. They also encourage her to use her weak hand in doing bilateral activities, and she does quite well. She is learning respect and care for animals, and I'm sure the benefits of that go well beyond even my scope of understanding.
Little Britches operats almost completely by donation, asking participating families to give a small portion. We of course do try to donate throughout the year as we are able as well. They rely on fundraisers throughout the year. It costs approximately $56 per session, per rider.
They have their biggest annual fundraiser on Sunday June 7, and it's a 5K road race. The Litchfield County course spans gorgeous scenery in Bridgewater, Connecticut and participants can run or walk, or simply donate. Would you consider joining Run For Nora, and come have some fun with us? If you are unable, please consider making a $56 donation, and pay for one lesson for one child.
